Crater Raises $1.5M to Disrupt the Moving Business

Crater recently closed a round of $1.5M led by InSync member, North Bay Angels. Multiple angels participated including InSync’s Berkeley Angel Network and Sacramento Angels. Other groups participating were the Band of Angels, Tech Coast Angels, HBS (Harvard) Alumni Angels of Northern California  and the Boise Angel Alliance (Gem State Angel Fund).

Crater developed SurveyBot, software that facilitates virtual interaction between moving companies and their customers, significantly lowering the costs associated with and improving the overall efficiency of the survey process. Movers spend $25B on estimates yearly, and Crater helps them save up to 60% by eliminating unnecessary costs associated with surveying. The company is enjoying rapid adoption by some of the largest moving brands across the US, Europe, Asia and Australia.

CEO, Alex Alpert gave us this quote for the InSync contribution to their raise:

“The InSync network has been a vital part of Crater’s fundraising process. It creates efficiency in the screening and due diligence process. We fully subscribed our round in record time and built a fantastic group of investors who believe in the company”
